WILD Institute hosting Foraging Hike on June 14
The hike, guided by local expert Mitchell Dech, is all about spotting and foraging for wild edible plants, trees, buds, and flowers that grow in our region.
The hike will be about 2 miles, and participants are encouraged to wear good shoes for moderate hiking, bring a cloth bag or basket for harvesting, and wear appropriate clothes for whatever the weather brings, as it will take place rain or shine.

Fayetteville Fire Department and local agencies partner up to rescue injured...
The Fayetteville Fire Department says crews were called around 11:30 a.m. after a 23-year-old man suffered a broken leg while climbing in the Fern Creek area near the New River.
Initial reports placed the victim near Miller's Folly Rapid, but rescuers later determined he was located between a quarter and a half mile up a steep section of Fern Creek.

Oak Hill High School’s 2026 graduation ceremony to be held indoors...

Since 2009, Bonnie's Bus has provided more than 34,000 screenings across West Virginia, helping detect more than 200 cases of breast cancer.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Department investigating single vehicle crash that left one...
Sheriff Jess McMullen reports that deputies responded near the intersection of Coles Road and Deepwater Mountain Road, where investigators say a white Honda Ridgeline traveled off the roadway and onto nearby railroad tracks.
Officials say the vehicle struck and damaged railroad property and signage before overturning into a creek.
Emergency responders worked to free the driver, who became trapped inside the vehicle.
