According to the Summers County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Withrow responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the Fox Addition area and made contact with 36 year old Cassondra Wood.  Authorities say further investigation revealed Wood was listed as a Fugitive from Justice and was wanted by law enforcement in Virginia in connection with felony narcotics-related charges. #SummersCounty #WOAY

The event honors the annual "Miner's Vacation," a two-week summer break once observed by coal miners across the New River Gorge region.  The fundraiser will feature a traditional fish dinner, presentations from local historians, and discussions about the role of railroads and coal mining in shaping the region's history.  #SummersCounty #WOAY

County Route 7/5, Keeney Mountain Road, will be closed at milepost 0.41 on Wednesday, May 27. The closure will take place from 08:00 am to 5:00 pm for a pipe replacement project.   #SummersCounty #WOAY

Clay, a bald eagle being treated at the center, has been euthanized after staff said his injuries were too severe to overcome.  According to the center, high levels of lead in Clay’s body stopped his injuries from healing. #SummersCounty #WOAY

Three Rivers is teaming up with Moonstruck Maple, its gourmet maple syrup and confectionery neighbor at their maple factory, for a double tour day. Moonstruck Maple will give free tours of its maple house, allowing visitors to see how syrup is made, learn about tree tapping, and enjoy complimentary tastings. #SummersCounty #WOAY

Pipestem Resort State Park is calling all you paper plane engineers out there to take flight in an upcoming contest. A local school community is stepping up to help after a devastating fire. Logan Elementary School suffered a fire this past weekend, leaving classrooms with nearly nothing. Now, students and staff at Summers County Comprehensive High School are organizing a supply drive to help them rebuild.
