Morning Meteorologist:
WOAY-TV is looking for a motivated team player to join us as a weekday Morning/Noon Meteorologist.
Duties include forecasting, creating graphics and maps, presenting clear and concise weather forecasts, producing web content, updating social media platforms, weekly Facebook Lives, and occasional live shots. You will work with our chief meteorologist to keep forecasts consistent and work with producers to determine relevant weather-related content for shows.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or other related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial. You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines. WSI Max experience is a plus.

MMJ / Reporter:

Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy a pre-employment DMV check.
This position requires you to report, shoot, write, and edit stories. You will be expected to produce content for a variety of platforms including our website, social media, and mobile app, in addition to television. Factual research, source development, and finding leads is crucial, in addition to being flexible to work assigned shifts.

You will also issue warnings and alerts as received from the National Weather Service and utilize social media during severe weather. WSI Max experience is a plus.

Weekend Sports Anchor / MMJ:
WOAY-TV has an immediate opening for a Weekend Sports Anchor / MMJ to anchor weekends and report three days a week.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or other related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial. You must be able to prioritize, work well independently, have strong organizational skills, handle time constraints, and meet deadlines. Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfy a pre-employment DMV check. Previous on-air experience anchoring and reporting is required.
As an anchor, you will be responsible for producing and anchoring sports segments in the weekend newscasts as well as posting content to social media and WOAY.com. You will also fill-in anchor as needed.
As a reporter, your responsibilities will include pitching story ideas, developing contacts and shooting, writing and editing stories. We`re looking for someone with solid news judgment, strong writing skills and the ability to work well with others. You’ll post stories on our internet site as well as our social networking sites.
