Raleigh County man faces multiple felony sexual assault charges

According to Sheriff Frank Priddy, the Raleigh County Sheriff's office was contacted in March by authorities in Morrow County, Ohio, about a complaint involving a juvenile.   During the investigation, detectives developed information related to multiple incidents in Raleigh County, leading to warrants for 24-year-old Benjamin Dale Ball.   #RaleighCounty #WOAY

50-year-old John Thompson received a 10-year sentence followed by five years of supervised release for aiding and abetting the distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine.  According to court documents, Thompson arranged the sale of approximately 205 grams of meth to a confidential informant in March of 2024.  #RaleighCounty #WOAY

Beckley man pleads guilty to drug distribution in Raleigh County

Federal prosecutors say 51-year-old Roger Lee Cousins was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison for distributing cocaine.  Court documents show Cousins sold cocaine and fentanyl to a confidential informant during several transactions in late 2024, including one deal involving more than 14 grams of cocaine and 27 grams of fentanyl.  #RaleighCounty #WOAY

Man faces DUI charges in Raleigh County following collision that left...

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Johnson responded to a call on Thursday, May 7, at the 800 block of East Whitby Road in Shady Spring in connection with a vehicle collision involving a Ford Bronco and a dirt bike. 2026 Rhododendron Festival kicks off on May 9

Festivities kick off Saturday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. with The Coffee, Tea, Sweet Treats and Preparedness Fair in downtown Beckley, featuring vendors, entertainment, and more.  The schedule also includes a painting class, nature walks, a pickleball tournament, and a photo contest throughout the week.  The festival continues on Saturday, May 16, with a car show on Main Street, complete with music and vendors.  The festival wraps up on Sunday, May 17, with a Grandview Rhododendron Walk starting at the Visitors’ Center at Grandview Main Overlook #RaleighCounty #WOAY

Man faces sexual abuse charges in Raleigh County

The Raleigh County Sheriff's Office reports that on April 9, Deputy Quesenberry responded to a juvenile-related complaint in the Crab Orchard area. An investigation revealed multiple incidents of alleged sexual abuse leading to warrants and ultimately the arrest of the suspect, identified as 59-year-old Lloyd Wesley King. #RaleighCounty #WOAY
