Authorities could not find any visible registration for the motorcycle and attempted to pull the driver over. Officers reported that the suspect did not stop and continued south on WV 16 towards Bailey, reportedly crossing the centerline several times and accelerating to speeds of 90 mph. The suspect then fled through Bradley, continuing to near the intersection of WV Route 16 and North Sand Branch Road, where they struck a State Police cruiser and a guardrail. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

Authorities pulled over the driver, identified as 50-year-old Jeanie Gail Fleshman, and noted she was shaking and taking rapid, deep breaths. Officers spoke with the vehicle's passenger, who reportedly seemed increasingly nervous and unable to maintain eye contact with them. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

The Freedom 250 Soap Box Derby takes place Friday, July 3, from noon until 3:00 p.m. as part of the city's Heritage Festival and Fourth of July celebration. Youth and adults ages 8 and older can race their own soap box car or borrow one provided by organizers. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

According to authorities, early on Sunday, June 28, deputies responded to a call on Armstrong Creek Road reporting a man on fire who was potentially electrocuted. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a man deceased in the roadway, who visibly suffered significant traumatic burn injuries. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on North Court Street near Beckwith Road shortly before 11:00 p.m. on June 24.  During the investigation, officers reportedly recovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, and a digital scale.  #FayetteCounty #WOAY

Beginning now through November 19, the trail will be closed Monday through Thursday between the Kaymoor Miners Trail parking area and the intersection with the Kaymoor Trail.  The closure will allow trail crews to rebuild and stabilize heavily worn sections of the popular route.  #FayetteCounty #WOAY
