Authorities could not find any visible registration for the motorcycle and attempted to pull the driver over. Officers reported that the suspect did not stop and continued south on WV 16 towards Bailey, reportedly crossing the centerline several times and accelerating to speeds of 90 mph. The suspect then fled through Bradley, continuing to near the intersection of WV Route 16 and North Sand Branch Road, where they struck a State Police cruiser and a guardrail. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

The beginner-friendly event, presented by Active Southern West Virginia, features a two-mile bike ride, a one-and-a-half-mile paddle on the New River, and a two-mile run through historic Thurmond.  Registration begins at 8:30 Sunday morning at the Dun Glen Day Use Area, with the race starting at 10:00 am.  Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, as parking will be limited. #FayetteCounty #WOAY

Fayette County man faces drug charges following traffic stop in Fayetteville

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on North Court Street near Beckwith Road shortly before 11:00 p.m. on June 24.  During the investigation, officers reportedly recovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, and a digital scale.  #FayetteCounty #WOAY
