Thurmond Triathlon taking place on Sunday June 28
The beginner-friendly event, presented by Active Southern West Virginia, features a two-mile bike ride, a one-and-a-half-mile paddle on the New River, and a two-mile run through historic Thurmond.
Registration begins at 8:30 Sunday morning at the Dun Glen Day Use Area, with the race starting at 10:00 am.
Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early, as parking will be limited.

Fayette County man faces drug charges following traffic stop in Fayetteville
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop on North Court Street near Beckwith Road shortly before 11:00 p.m. on June 24.
During the investigation, officers reportedly recovered approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3.5 grams of cocaine, and a digital scale.
