State Police arrest Fayette County man following road rage incident

Mount Hope, WV (WOAY)- The West Virginia State Police have arrested a Fayette County man following a road rage incident. 

According to a WVSP press release, Senior Trooper S. A. Wickline responded yesterday afternoon to a shooting complaint on the 5500 block of Robert C. Byrd Drive in Mount Hope. 

Upon arrival, Wickline discovered no one involved in the incident was injured. 

The suspect, 44-year-old Michael Williams of Oak Hill, allegedly discharged a firearm into the air, fled the area, and was later discovered at an Oak Hill residence.  

Wickline determined this shooting was the result of a road rage incident. 

Authorities also discovered Williams was traveling with his one-year-old grandchild during this incident.  

Williams was charged with child neglect and wanton endangerment in Raleigh and fayette county.
