NIOSH to host free Black Lung Screenings in Raleigh County starting April 23-25

Beaver, WV (WOAY)—The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health will offer free black lung screenings in Raleigh County from April 23 to 25.

The screenings will be provided by a mobile testing unit at the MSHA National Mine Health and Safety Academy in Beaver from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Screenings include work history, respiratory health questionnaires, chest X-rays, blood pressure checks, and breathing tests.
Attendants should receive their test results within 8 to 10 weeks of their appointment, and their screening will remain confidential. 

While patients are advised to schedule an appointment in advance, walk-ins are welcome.

Current and former miners are encouraged to participate.
