Fayette County, WV (WOAY) The Fayette County Commission is working with the Governor’s Office and local partners to help residents recover from last week’s flooding.
Officials say widespread damage has been reported in Cunard, Armstrong Creek, Robson, Beards Fork, Pax, Mount Hope and Kanawha Falls.
The Division of Highways is working to reopen roads in Kanawha Falls and Mulberry Creek before moving on to additional repairs.
Several residents also lost private bridges, vehicles and trailers, while flood debris remains in homes and yards.
The Fayette County Office of Emergency Management is providing free hot meals and water daily from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Robson Freewill Baptist Church.
Portable showers, internet access, device charging, and flood cleanup supplies are also available.
The Sheriff’s Department is delivering food and water to residents cut off by the collapsed road in Mulberry Fork, while the county organizes volunteers to help until the road can be repaired.
Cleanup supplies are also available at the Armstrong Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Pax Town Hall and the Fayette County 911 Center in Fayetteville.
The National Guard has been authorized to assess areas where it can assist with cleanup.
The Fayette County Health Department is also offering free vaccinations for people exposed to flood waters.

Officials are asking residents to report damaged homes, lost bridges, damaged roads, and blocked creeks to the Fayette County 911 Center’s non-emergency line at 304-574-3590.
Those reports will help the state assess the extent of the damage and determine eligibility for assistance.
