"If we don't make Fayette County a county where young people feel like they can raise a family and make a living, we are doomed. It is as simple as it gets."

Burford said he is running because he felt it was time to get involved and make a difference. "I spend a lot of time in county town meetings, PSD meetings, different types of board meetings, and I see their issues... I want to be a guy that can listen to the people for the county and bring it to the commission," he said.

Teresa Dorsey says she is running for the Fayette County Commission to continue her career of public service. "We can't have a successful future unless we all work together," she said.
