Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) Fayetteville is gearing up for its biggest Independence Day celebration yet.
This year’s Fayetteville Heritage Festival and Fourth of July Celebration will span two days, July 3 and 4, as the community joins the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Festival organizers say visitors can enjoy live music, food vendors, local crafts, inflatables, family games, and patriotic activities throughout downtown Fayetteville.
The celebration also features a larger-than-ever Fourth of July Parade with cash prizes for the best floats, decorated bikes, and side-by-sides, along with the return of the Fayetteville Freedom 250 Soap Box Derby.
Other highlights include a patriotic pet contest, cake walk, hot dog eating contest, a street dance, and a fireworks display over Fayetteville Town Park to close out the festivities.
