Community invited to prepare their vehicles as Freedom 250 Soap Box Derby returns to Fayetteville on July 3

Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) A longtime Independence Day tradition is making a return to downtown Fayetteville. 

The Freedom 250 Soap Box Derby takes place Friday, July 3, from noon until 3:00 p.m. as part of the city’s Heritage Festival and Fourth of July celebration.

Youth and adults ages 8 and older can race their own soap box car or borrow one provided by organizers.

Winners can take home prizes of up to $250.

Registration is now open for anyone hoping to compete.
