PRINCETON, WV (WOAY)- As we hit the end of National Nurses Week, WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital celebrated by announcing their nurse of the year.
Barbara Carter, a critical care nurse, was chosen to be the Nurse of the Year. In a press release, her nomination said that she “goes above and beyond for all her patients every single day. There is not a single day that she doesn’t give her all for her patients.”
They also honored Jessica Young as the Nurse Leader of the Year. This is for “her exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment to patient care, and the respect she’s earned from both her team and peers.”
In addition to Carter and Young, there were 21 nurses and patient care technicians who were honored as finalists in 12 specialty areas. All individuals were nominated by peers and supervisors across departments, and a full list is listed below.
