Charleston,WV (WOAY)-The West Virginia Public Service Commission has scheduled a public hearing on a proposed $71.6 million rate hike for Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power customers.
If approved, the Expanded Net Energy Cost, or ENEC, increase would raise the average residential bill by about $5.31 a month, a 3 percent jump.
The public comment hearing kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on August 11, both in-person at PSC headquarters in Charleston and online via Microsoft Teams (Meeting Link: https://bit.ly/WVPSC202508011).
An evidentiary hearing will follow the next morning at 9:30 and may continue through August 13.
Anyone wishing to speak must register by 4 p.m. on August 8.
