WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This morning is another calm and slightly brisk start, but temperatures will rise once again this afternoon. At peak daytime heating, we will break the 80-degree mark for the first time in a little while. Skies will remain partly cloudy through the day, so any outdoor plans should go on without issue. However, some storms will enter the region overnight as the incoming cold front slowly approaches the region. Our area should avoid the rain until Thursday morning. Here’s the latest from Meteorologist Christian Boteler:
The cold front will reach our area later in the day, but showers and storms can pop up as early as the morning hours. Rainfall will last through most of the day and into the overnight hours even after the front passes. Severe weather is becoming more likely tomorrow, especially in the afternoon and evening. There will be sufficient available energy (or CAPE) and decent wind shear, which indicate the possibility for strong storms. The main concern within any storms that become severe will be damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour. Heavy rain will also be in play, while hail and tornadic activity are not as likely. Make sure to stay aware through the day and download the StormWatch App.
After the front passes over, showers will slowly dissipate on Friday. Showers and storms will be weaker, so there should not be any severe activity after tomorrow. Most rainfall will be in the form of broken showers during the morning and afternoon hours, but a couple rumbles of thunder are possible. High pressure will push into the region that evening, taking out the remaining showers for the day. Overnight, condition will be calmer and cooler.

The weekend will start on an excellent note. All of Saturday will be mostly sunny and comfortable with temperatures remaining in the mid-70s. It will be the perfect day for any outdoor plans. Conditions will remain nice Sunday morning and afternoon, but a few scattered storms are possible in the evening and overnight. Any storms developing ahead of the next low-pressure system will be scattered, so not everyone will see rain. On Monday, that low-pressure system passes over the region, bringing another shot of needed rain early next week. Here’s the 7-Day Forecast:
