Tuesday Stays Cold; Rainier Days Coming

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Conditions are cold to start the morning, and a few lingering flurries are still in the region. Wind chills are into the single digits and will be there until this afternoon. Make sure to wear plenty of layers through the day, especially for this morning commute. The flurries will move on through the morning, leaving us with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. The rest of the day will be drier, but the cold lingers until tomorrow afternoon. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:

Rain and snow return to the forecast on Wednesday, but won’t be nearly as bad as this weekend. A low-pressure system in the Canadian side of the Great Lakes will push through the eastern states and Canadian provinces. Along with that, some showers will drop into the Appalachians. Conditions start as a wintry mix scattered through the region, switching to all rain in the afternoon. These showers will move in and out of the area through the day. They move out overnight, but more rain comes in Thursday.

Another system of showers moves through on Thursday, bringing widespread rain to the region once again. Temperatures will warm up to around 50 degrees, which helps with the snowpack. However, with rain falling and all the snow melting, flooding issues become a concern. Streams and creeks could overflow, and ponding on roads is likely. We are keeping an eye on this potential as the week continues. Rain will finally leave Friday morning.

After the rain, conditions calm down. Temperatures will also be on the upswing on Saturday. By the afternoon, temperatures will be close to 60 degrees once again. These warmer temperatures are brief, as they drop down to more seasonable values by Monday. At the very least, this weekend will be much better than the last! Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
