OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Some strong showers and storms rolled through the area this afternoon. It was the second line of storms to come through today, after the first round this morning was not that strong. This afternoon, there was damage reported in the Winona and Lookout areas in Fayette County. Fortunately, the strong storms are done now, although scattered showers will continue to fall around the area through the early morning hours. Temperatures will cool as well, and by tomorrow morning, we’ll be in the middle 40s. With the moisture around and with temperatures and dewpoints getting close to each other, patchy fog is a possibility.

Tomorrow, there will still be some lingering showers around the area, especially early in the day. We’ll feel the full influence of the front as highs will only be in the mid-to-upper 50s.

It will feel cooler than that as well, with winds out of the northwest at a decent clip and gusts to 25 mph. Tomorrow night, patchy frost is possible in some areas, mainly at higher elevations.
Through the rest of the extended forecast, temperatures will stay below normal until Day 7 (next Wednesday). For several of those days, highs won’t even get above 60 degrees, quite a difference from the 80s that we’ve seen so often in the past few weeks and around 10 degrees below the normal. Lows will be in the upper 30s, and there is a chance for patchy frost in most areas. There will be a chance for showers as well, but any rain that falls will be light.
