OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – After multiple days of rain, the showers and storms have finally ended, and as usual, patchy fog will be possible in areas that saw some rain in addition to other areas where there has been a lot of moisture lately.

Lows will be in the lower 60s, a couple of degrees below where they have been the past few mornings.
Tomorrow, the warm-up begins as some of the heat that baked the west this past weekend will begin to shift eastward, driving highs into the mid-80s.

There will be plenty of sunshine as well, making it a good day for doing any outdoor plans, but don’t forget to hydrate and wear sunscreen. Lows tomorrow night will be in the lower 60s again.
The heat really gets turned up for several days starting in the middle of the week. While it won’t be quite as warm as it’s been out west recently (parts of the northern Rockies have seen highs above 110 degrees!), it will still be between 5 and 10 degrees above normal. Highs on Wednesday and Thursday will get to near 90 degrees on average, with the usual warmer spots getting into the lower 90s. Overall, it won’t be quite as hot as it was a couple of weeks ago – I think Bluefield can keep the lemon squeezers in storage this time.
The next chance for showers and storms will be on Saturday as another front approaches from the northwest.

Some of the storms associated with this front could be on the strong-to-severe side, but it’s a long way off, and we’ll have to see how the forecast evolves. For now, plan to keep the umbrella handy if you’re headed out for any outdoor plans. With the extra cloud cover, temperatures will dip slightly, with highs in the lower 80s to end the forecast.
