Strong Storms Leave in Time for Summer

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will be yet another round of strong to severe isolated storms within scattered showers, mainly during the afternoon and evening today. Some showers have already been affecting the area this morning, but we’ll see more activity through the day today. Damaging winds and flooding will be the main concerns, though flooding concerns have waned a bit as the storms will be moving faster than previous days. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Tomorrow will continue to carry strong to severe storms with damaging winds and some localized flooding concerns as a cold front passes through during the day. The eastern half of our viewing area has been placed in the “slight” severe risk category, meaning we’ll see some scattered severe storms across the region. This risk could spread to the western counties too, and we’ll update the community if anything changes. Stay weather aware and make sure you have multiple ways to receive alerts. Here’s the regional severe weather outlook for Thursday:

After the weather leaves on Thursday, high pressure settles in for a long while. This will result in dry, hot weather starting this weekend into the next work week. The Summer Solstice on Friday will be absolutely gorgeous with mostly sunny weather and temperatures in the low 80s before we get into the 90s with sunny skies for the weekend.
