WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): After some patchy fog leaves the area during the morning commute, partly cloudy skies will remain for the majority of the day. However, we do have a severe weather threat through the nighttime and overnight hours as a cold front passes the area. The strongest of the storms will be to our northwest, but we will see damaging winds and some hail possible. An isolated spin-up may occur as well, but is unlikely. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:
After the front quickly moves through the region, some leftover showers will develop in the first half of the day before dissipating to sunny skies by the evening. Flooding is not a big risk in the area due to the fast movement of this front and lingering showers being light. Wednesday and Thursday will be dry and warm as high pressure quickly pushes away any leftover showers out of the area. We’ll reach 85 degrees in some places once again by Thursday with sunny skies during the two-day dry period. Unfortunately, Friday and Father’s Day Weekend is trending to be another wash as showers and storms start Friday from a low-pressure system. The low-pressure will move through the area Saturday, but another low-pressure system will pass by us to the west on Sunday. These systems will bring more rain through Father’s Day into the next work week. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
