Stormy Front Passes Before Extended Dry Streak

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Yesterday saw some scattered showers through the day that gradually decreased after the morning, but today will be wetter and stormier as the cold front we’ve been watching passes through. Strong storms are expected across the area with damaging winds and some flood potential in isolated downpours across the area. The crux of the front will come through later this afternoon through the evening before leaving behind some lingering showers overnight. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:

After a stormy afternoon and evening today, high pressure will push out the remaining showers by Friday morning and start summer off dry and warm. The Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, will have plenty to enjoy as sunny skies will prevail. However, the weekend will warm up drastically, bringing us to 90 degrees on Sunday. From Sunday onwards, we will be humid and hot with sunny skies. Make sure you have plenty of water and sunscreen, find some shade to take breaks in, and limit your time outside if possible during the next week as temperatures continue to rise.
