It’s been a nice day around the region, that’s all going to change as we head into the week ahead! Snow is currently developing as of typing this up, and it will continue to sweep through the region through Tuesday morning. Most of Veteran’s Day should be clear of snow, however. There might be a few lingering snow showers, in the far northern counties early Tuesday morning. The roads shouldn’t be a major issue for most people, as the temperatures of the ground are still in the 40’s to 50’s. As the snow continues to fall, and lows reach sub 30 by Tuesday morning, traveling could get a little rough in places.
Most areas should see around an inch of snow accumulating on mainly grassy surfaces, but there are a few areas in the light blue that could see 3 inches. The darker blue into the purple region could see more accumulation, up to potentially 8 inches within the heaviest snow bands and in the highest elevations of Pocahontas County. Areas furthest east, from Lewisburg to the Virginia border, should see a dusting to an inch, mainly on the grassy surfaces.

With snow coming through Monday into Tuesday, a warm-up looks to take hold of the area with temperatures mid-week in the 50’s and temperatures going into the weekend potentially reaching the 60’s in areas. Most of the time after Tuesday morning should remain relatively dry, however Sunday we are watching another system coming in from the west. With warmer temperatures, nothing looks wintry with this new system as we head into the late weekend. Stay tuned for updates on that!
