WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will start off decently with mostly sunny skies and patchy fog across the region. However, we will start a warm and humid pattern this afternoon that will last through the rest of the week. With this pattern comes thunderstorms and showers, some of which can be strong starting Tuesday. The main concerns for any stronger storms are damaging winds and heavy rain causing flooding concerns.
Today will start slow, but a stationary front will set up to our north in Ohio. This front will linger for most of the week, causing diurnal activity across the region. Storms will start popping up in the early afternoon, be their strongest in the evening, and dissipate by around midnight in most places. The front will move around, albeit slowly, until the weekend. This front lingering is going to cause some flooding issues in our area, especially with downpours expected to be scattered across the week. Here’s a look at how the front will likely set up in the middle of the week:

As we move into the 2nd half of the week, Thursday has a better chance of rainfall and severe weather. This chance diminishes a bit on Friday, but not significantly, before the stationary front finally starts to move away from the region this weekend. However, storms and showers will still be around the region through the weekend. This pattern comes after a dry weekend, which may help flooding risks early one. However, with downpours possible, we could see vulnerable areas in danger of flooding by Wednesday.
