Our weather is starting to ramp back up here in our neck of the woods. Not only are we dealing with poor air quality today due to smoke from Canadian wildfires, but we’re also tracking showers and storms moving through the region.
Rain and storms will continue through tonight and into tomorrow, with stronger storms likely on the way. While not everyone picked up rainfall today, most of us will see some wet weather by tomorrow—and rain chances look to stick around for much of next week.
Multiple disturbances are expected to move through the region over the coming days, keeping daily rain and storm chances in the forecast. A few storms could be on the strong side on Friday and Saturday, with gusty winds as the primary concern. Hail remains a low threat, and fortunately, there is no tornado threat at this time.
Temperatures will stay warm and seasonable, hovering near or slightly above average throughout the week. Most of the rain will be beneficial, especially after the recent dry stretch. However, heavier downpours in some storms could result in runoff or localized flooding, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
We’ll continue to track this unsettled pattern. As always, stay up to date with the latest updates right here on WOAY.
