Rain chances start on Mother’s Day and last through the week

Howdy folks! After a beautiful Saturday, we’re turning our attention to a rainy pattern setting up across the region. Daily rain chances return starting on Mother’s Day and will continue through the first half of the upcoming week.

While Sunday won’t be a complete washout, don’t be surprised if a few spotty showers pass through during the day. It’s not expected to ruin Mother’s Day plans for most, but having a backup indoor option isn’t a bad idea.

Rain chances increase in a big way beginning Monday, with showers and thunderstorms likely through Wednesday. Monday brings the potential for locally heavy rain, and while much of the rainfall will be beneficial, there is a flash flood risk in areas that see repeated downpours.

Temperatures will remain warm overall. Monday looks to be the coolest day of the week, with highs in the mid-60s. After that, we’ll rebound into the 70s and even low 80s by midweek.

If you don’t mind a little rain, the week ahead might not be so bad. But for those who prefer sunnier skies, you’ll definitely want to keep the umbrella handy—especially during the first half of the week.
