Rain chances on Father’s Day continue into the week ahead

We’re heading into another rainy stretch here in southern West Virginia. After a soggy start today, showers and storms are expected to continue daily through at least Thursday—which includes your Father’s Day plans.

Father’s Day is shaping up to be an unsettled one, with off-and-on storms likely throughout the day. Some of these storms could be heavy enough to cause flash flooding, especially in flood-prone or low-lying areas. If you’re planning to fire up the grill for Dad, be prepared to dodge a few raindrops—or have someone ready with an umbrella while you cook!

The wet pattern doesn’t end on Sunday. Rain and storms will remain in the forecast through Thursday, bringing multiple rounds of moisture across the region. Sunday currently carries the highest potential for flash flooding, but heavy rain at times could create problems earlier in the week as well.

Despite the rain, temperatures will hold near or just above seasonal norms for mid-June, hovering in the mid to upper 70s and low 80s. The humidity will stick around too, adding to that classic summer storm feel.

Keep an eye on weather alerts and radar updates, and as always—stay safe, stay cool, and stay dry!
