It is a nice afternoon around the area, with plenty of sunshine and pleasant temperatures.

Tonight, there won’t be many clouds around and it will be a little cooler than normal, but overall, it will be a nice night.
Tomorrow will start out nice, but as the day goes on clouds will come into the area ahead of another low-pressure center that is producing severe storms to our southwest today. While it won’t be as intense when it gets here in terms of severe weather, there will still be a chance for strong storms.

The real concern for this storm will be the chance for heavy rain. There could be flooding with the rain that falls, especially in the western part of the area. The forecast models that we look at have different solutions regarding how much rain will fall, but the bottom line is that we’ll be watching the rain gauges as well as the rivers, creeks and streams very closely over the next few days. With the chance for heavy rain, the National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for parts of the area from tomorrow into Wednesday morning.

Each model does have the heaviest amounts over the area with the watch.

The chance for rain continues through the rest of the work week, and cooler air also comes into the picture behind the low, with highs only in the lower 60s on Thursday, dropping into the upper 50s on Friday and rebounding only into the 60s during the weekend. We don’t get back to normal until we start the next work week.
