National Alliance on Mental Illness invites community to join listening tour in Beckley on August 13

Beckley, WV (WOAY) The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in West Virginia is inviting community members to help shape the future of behavioral health care during a listening session in Beckley. 

The Southern West Virginia stop of NAMI’s statewide listening tour will take place Thursday, August 13, from noon until 1:00 p.m. at WVU Tech.

The event will bring together healthcare providers, educators, law enforcement, recovery organizations, community leaders, and individuals with lived experience to discuss mental health needs across the region. 

Participants will take part in roundtable discussions on topics including access to care, youth mental health, crisis response, and community support services.

Feedback gathered during the statewide tour will help create a State of Mental Health Report and guide future advocacy efforts.
