Hazy Days; Rainy Pattern Returns

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will bring some hazy conditions and patchy smoke thanks to the Canadian wildfires and some southern winds. The day will be beautiful with sunny skies and temperatures above 80 degrees, but make sure to stay inside if the smoke affects you. Vulnerable groups such as those with respiratory issues and the elderly should take extra caution if air quality takes a turn later today. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:

The hazy and warm conditions continue through Wednesday as temperatures climb to 85 degrees in sunny skies. The haze will be a bit better than today, though it will still affect vulnerable groups with extensive time outside. The dry streak comes to an end at the end of the week starting on Thursday night with some showers. Friday and Saturday will be the brunt of the rain as the front finally moves through the area. Some storms have potential to be strong, though the worst of it will be to our southwest.

Sunday and Monday will continue to see bouts of showers as the last of the front and the first of a new disturbance come through the area. This is the June we’re more accustomed to, as it is typically the 2nd wettest month of the year. The rain chances are lower at the end of the weekend and start of next week as there will be some breaks in the precipitation, though rainfall will still be in play. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
