OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – For the second consecutive Tuesday, we saw strong to severe storms push through the area. Even the setup was the same: a line of strong storms pushed through this morning, followed by sunshine, then a batch of severe storms, and finally more garden-variety storms towards the end of the day. The intensity of the storms was roughly the same as last week, but the spread of the storms was greater today. In the end, the result was also the same: there haven’t been any reports of severe weather in our area today. Tonight, we’ll start with scattered showers and storms and end with partly cloudy skies. Lows will drop off behind the front that produced today’s rough weather and will be in the lower 60s.
Tomorrow will also be a similar day to last Wednesday, with widely scattered showers around as a disturbance will ride along the front to our south.
The biggest change between this week and last is the temperatures; they’re not as warm ahead of or behind the front that passed through today; we’ll top out in the mid-70s. It’s the start to a pleasant stretch of weather around the region. Thursday and Friday will be nice with mostly sunny skies, and we’ll see a gradual warm-up with highs around 80 degrees. Another series of fronts will give us a chance for showers and storms starting late Saturday, with rain chances becoming likely on Sunday and Monday before dropping back to the possible range next Tuesday. It looks like we’ll avoid seeing any severe weather this coming Tuesday.
