Fayetteville, WV (WOAY)- A sweet holiday tradition is returning to Fayette County, and you’re invited to step into a storybook scene.
Fayetteville will host its annual Gingerbread Festival beginning Friday, December 5, transforming the historic downtown into a winter wonderland filled with gingerbread decorations and festive storefronts.
Families can stroll the Hansel and Gretel Trail, enjoy small-town holiday shopping, and take in themed displays throughout the community.
The weekend is packed with activities, including breakfast with Santa at Cathedral Café,
Visitors can also expect a Christmas craft show with over 50 local vendors, and a holiday art sampler celebrating Fayetteville’s talented creators.
On Saturday, Christmas characters will parade through town with Santa making a grand entrance during the Fayetteville Christmas Parade at 5:00 p.m. on Maple Avenue.
Kids can visit Santa and his elves, enjoy caroling, face painting, hot cocoa, and write letters to the North Pole.
The festival also includes the 7th Annual Gingerbread Decorating Contest, open to all ages and skill levels, with entries on display for public voting.
