WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This morning is slightly cooler than yesterday, but temperatures will be close to or above 80 degrees for the vast majority of the region this afternoon. It will be feeling like an early summer day, which is great news for those warm weather lovers. However, an umbrella will be useful for some later today. Scattered showers will be popping in and out of the region through the day, dissipating after sunset. These showers will be much weaker than the storms we saw yesterday, thankfully.
This pattern of warm temperatures and scattered showers & storms will continue not just today, but through Saturday. A low-pressure system tries to move in at the end of the week, but will miss us to the north, leaving us with only scattered showers tomorrow. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
The next cold front will move in on Sunday morning, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms into the region. The timing of these storms favors our area, as less energy in the atmosphere means weaker storms. However, the rain will be here to stay for a majority of Easter Sunday. Along with the lasting rainfall, temperatures will be dragged down by this front. By the afternoon, we will only reach just above 60 degrees. These values are seasonable for this time of year, but it is still a steep drop from 80 degrees the day before.
The front will pass during the morning hours, but rain will not start to dissipate until the evening. Showers and storms will finally pass through completely overnight, ending our active weather pattern. If you have outdoor plans in the morning or afternoon and do not have a backup plans, I recommend making one now. An umbrella or rain jacket will also be helpful during your travels, regardless if plans are inside or outdoors.

After this cold front passes through, the weather pattern becomes much more passive. Temperatures will be cooler than average, and a dry streak will be upon us. Plenty of people will appreciate the dry weather next week, just be sure to have an extra layer or two before enjoying the nicer weather. This pattern will last through Wednesday at least, meaning we get a substantial break from the rain. However, brush fire risks may elevate as the week continues, and some parts of the viewing area are already in an abnormally dry spell. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:
