Drier Weekend Before Rain Gradually Returns

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Today will bring about partly cloudy skies with a very slight chance of a stray evening shower. However, we’ll stay mostly dry after the dense, patchy fog leaves our area this morning. Some areas have very dense fog, so make sure you are careful when making your morning commute. Have an umbrella on hand not just today, but all weekend as those slight chances continue. Meteorologist Christian Boteler dives into the details:

Going into the weekend, Saturday will have the best chance of pop-up showers before Sunday stays mostly dry once again. Temperatures will stick around 85 degrees for most of the region, making for a warmer but nicer weekend. Next week will start to bring gradual rain chances back into the forecast, although they stay lower for Monday into Tuesday. You’ll be able to squeeze in some outdoor activities, but make sure you’ve got your rain gear and a backup plan just in case. These slight chances are what make these days “Fair” in the Yard Work Forecast below:

Heading into the middle of the week, a cold front will approach and bring the next significant rain chance across the region. Both Wednesday and Thursday have a 60% chance of showers and storms as of now. Tropical Storm Erin may also bring some moisture into the equation even without making landfall, potentially giving more fuel for heavier rainfall. We’ll be keeping an eye on Erin’s track as its turn towards the Atlantic is still expected. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:
