The severe weather outlook for Saturday shows the severe weather staying north of our area. Morgantown had a severe thunderstorm that produced damage and injuries during the WVU baseball game a few hours ago.

Once we go further into the week, we do get rain chances becoming more likely. This is a look at Wednesday that shows some widespread rain potential across the area, with the potential for some heavier thunderstorms for some.

Here is the futurecast rainfall over the next 7 days from the European model, which shows the majority of our area recieving near an inch of rain. The heaviest rain looks to set up across the Southern Coalfields and up toward Nicholas County, while the Greenbrier Valley seems to be the area who gets a little less. With the drought that we have currently, this rain will not improve it by any means, but it could definitely help it stay similar to what it is and not have it get much worse.

While we have rain chances throughout the next 7 days, not everyone will see rain all these days. Most people will remain dry Sunday through Tuesday. Wednesday and Saturday could see slightly more widespread rain across the area. With high school baseball teams across our region making it to the state tournament, hopefully the majority of this rain misses Huntington!
