We are still seeing some lingering showers around parts of the region this afternoon as the front that has been impacting our weather slowly pushes its way to the south.

Most of the showers are in the southern coalfields, and we still have Flood Watches there for another few hours.

Tonight, the skies will clear for most areas with some patchy fog possible, especially in areas that have picked up so much rain. The major difference between tonight and the last couple of weeks is that the temperatures by tomorrow morning will be in the lower 60s. It’s quite a change from what we’ve been seeing in the AM hours for the last few weeks.

Tomorrow afternoon will be the most pleasant day that we’ve seen in quite a while. Highs will be in the lower 80s, and there will be plenty of sunshine. A stray shower or two is possible, especially in the southern coalfields again as the front struggles to continue its southward push. The pleasant weather continues for most of the traditional work week, but as high pressure passes to the southeast, the flow will be out of the south again, which means that the humidity will return after taking a brief vacation.
Later in the forecast, a front will approach from the northwest, and that will trigger some showers and storms beginning later Friday and lasting through the weekend as the front slows down as it pushes into the Ohio Valley. It’s not unusual for this time of the year, but it’s definitely not what we want to see as we head out to our outdoor plans.
