Councilman and local musician from Rainelle aims to lift spirits through virtual performance series

RAINELLE, WV (WOAY) – He’s a councilman in Rainelle, and he’s a musician.

During the pandemic, John Wyatt been providing virtual entertainment by performing his gospel and country music at various state parks and historic locations.

He calls it “Where in the World in Appalachia is John Wyatt?” and not only does he sing but he shares West Virginia history and then posts the videos to Facebook and YouTube. 

“People are interested. I haven’t had one that’s went viral yet, but I’ve had a few of them that’s got 700 or 800 views and people seem to enjoy it. and when I’m not on there, they say, ‘Where in the world is John Wyatt?’ and so I’ve just really enjoyed doing that this summer,” he said.
