WV State Police to conduct DUI checkpoint in Fayette County

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia State Police will be on the lookout for impaired drivers later this month.

According to a media release, troopers will set up a sobriety checkpoint at Rt. 16 (Main Street) in the Oak Hill area of Fayette County on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

The checkpoint will operate between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and midnight. Troopers say the purpose of the checkpoint is to detect and deter impaired drivers, as well as to teach the public about the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The State Police urge drivers to assist law enforcement agencies in their efforts to stop DUI incidents by reporting impaired drivers.
