It was a sunny start to the afternoon around the region, but as the day went on, some locations began to pick up some clouds. Temperatures have been held in check, whether there were clouds or not, thanks to some cool air being pulled into the region behind a front. With a cool start to the evening, longer nights, and dry air in place, temperatures will fall off quite a bit by tomorrow morning. Lows will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s in all areas, and parts of Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties will see patchy frost.

Other areas could as well, but it’s those two counties that have the greatest number of areas with frost by tomorrow morning. The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Frost Advisory for Pocahontas County through tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
Highs tomorrow will be on the cool side, despite abundant sunshine. We’ll be a couple of degrees below the normal, with most areas in the lower 60s. Tomorrow night will be even colder than tonight, and the cold weather advisories in effect are Freeze Watches, again for Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties.

Late in the week and into the weekend, temperatures warm up ahead of another low-pressure center. Highs will rise into the mid to upper 60s on Friday and into the mid-70s on Bridge Day Saturday.

By Sunday, we’ll be in the mid-70s again, but we’ll also pick up a chance for showers as the low passes to our north and drags a cool front through the region.

Late in the forecast, the first front exits the region, leaving behind cool air. Highs on Monday will only be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Another chance for showers ends the extended forecast.
