Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) The City of Oak Hill has a new place for every kid to play.

The city announces the opening of the brand new playground at City Park.

The playground is all-inclusive, thanks to enhanced ADA-accessible equipment, and is a part of upcoming upgrades to the city’s infrastructure and recreational offerings.

In July 2025, the city was awarded a land and water conservation fund grant for $400,000 aimed at improving park infrastructure and playgrounds.

The city contributed $200,000 of the funds for the 50/50 matching grant.

Parks and Recreation Director Josh Sapio first mentioned the new playground during an interview about the grant funding.

Sapio also discussed further plans, such as improving drainage within the playgrounds and adding site amenities such as an outdoor food court.
