CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia’s capital city is planning on helping out the state’s green thumbs with a free compost giveaway later this month.

Charleston officials said Tuesday that the giveaway is set for June 27 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the city’s composting facility on Hannah Drive.

The city says workers will help load the compost into trailers and trucks. Officials are welcoming businesses and residents to the giveaway, saying there’s no limit on the amount of compost a person can take.

Appointments can also be made to pick up compost on other days. More information can be found on the city’s website.
