Brutal Cold Ends To Warm Up Early Week With Rain Chances Returning

We will see some isolated snow showers throughout Southern West Virginia Sunday, before we completely dry up heading into Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday sees our first temperatures in the 50’s for the majority of people for what seems like an eternity. However, that type of warmth will be short lived. We will see the potential for multiple storm systems to track near our area through the week, but the majority of models have them just missing our area. Looking ahead Tuesday night seems to have our most likely chance of rain, before the rain on Wednesday starts to trend south. That is something we will continue to watch to see if and how far that rain shifts south through the day Wednesday.

The GFS and European model however, still have Southern West Virginia picking up a little bit of rain, though most people stay below half an inch. As of now, the majority of rain looks to be across parts of Kentucky/Tennessee into Southern Virginia and Western North Carolina.

Looking at that full 7 day forecast, a big warm up Tuesday, before temperatures drop back down into the 30’s by the end of the week. Chances of rain are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday before wintry mix potential takes over for the remainder of the week into the weekend. No one should be sitting through a washout on any day and accumulations of any wintry type look fairly low as of now. Most people will stay dry late-week.
