WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): We had a busy day yesterday, but conditions are calming down for the rest of the week. Some patchy fog is forming this morning, but it is less dense than previous foggy mornings across the region. Per usual, any fog will dissipate around 10 AM. Skies remain partly sunny, but cloud cover will slowly decrease through the day. Temperatures will peak around 75 degrees this afternoon, and low humidity will create a very comfortable feel. The only kink in today’s forecast is the low possibility of a stray shower or two this afternoon. If any shower forms, it will be brief and light. The calmer conditions will eventually fade Saturday night. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the latest forecast:
Thursday will be even better than today. The chance of showers is eliminated as high pressure passes by and temperatures remain in the mid-70s. It will be a perfect day to head outside and enjoy in any way you can. Of course, you will still want some water and sunscreen to keep yourself hydrated and safe. Overnight temperatures will dip into the mid-50s for a couple of days, which is slightly chillier than we expect during the “Dog Days” of summer. Temperatures will rise on Friday, passing 80 degrees that afternoon. More sunny skies and comfortable humidity accompany this rise in temperatures, extending the calm and pleasant pattern for one more day.
All good things come to an end, but we will be able to enjoy another nicer day on Saturday before rain returns overnight. Temperatures remain in the lower 80s during the afternoon before the next complex of showers and storms shows up. Showers will stay scattered overnight before becoming widespread Sunday morning and beyond. This system will attempt to move out Sunday night, but could potentially stick around for most of Monday. Models remain uncertain of this system’s exit, which is why rain chances are extended through Tuesday. This is another sign to get out and enjoy the nice weather over the next few days.
