BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Fire Department says it rescued a dog from a structure fire early Thursday morning.
The department says a call came in at around 4:45 a.m for a house fire in the 1000 block of Maxwell Hill Road.
After arriving on scene, firefighters searched the house and found the dog. The fire was extinguished, and crews remained on scene until 7:30 a.m.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
