OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – It is a nice evening around the region, although it is quite a bit cooler than it was yesterday.
The skies are clear, and the temperatures are going to fall fairly quickly before some clouds make their way into the region. Lows will wind up in the lower to middle 20s.

As for precipitation, there is some snow well off to the north of the region, and some of that could clip Pocahontas County. Everyone else should stay dry.

Tomorrow will be a nice day again, but the coldest air we’ll see this week will be in the forecast, with highs in the middle 30s. While that is colder than normal, it’s nowhere near as cold as it was last week or the week before that. There are no highs in the teens in this forecast! We’ll see a little sun to continue working on the snow piles, though there will be plenty of clouds as well. Tomorrow night will also be the coldest night of the seven-day period, as we drop into the lower 20s, with some teens in the usual colder spots.
The next chance for precipitation will be Saturday evening, as another low comes into the region from the southwest.

How close the center of the low gets to us will determine how heavy the rain will be. If the rain is heavy, we could see some rises in the creeks and streams, and we’ll have to monitor that closely as we go through the weekend. Something that could cut down on the immediate runoff would be a mix of precipitation or snow. Anything wintry that falls will likely be confined to the highest elevations.

After the weekend storm is gone, things turn calmer again, with highs on the rise again as the warmer-than-normal pattern is still in effect. Highs by the middle of next week will be pushing 60 degrees.
