Rain will be sticking with us in Southern WV through the next 7 days. Thursday has a chance to bring some lightning and thunder to the region, especially if we end up getting little cells like this model is showing throughout some of the area. The atmosphere will be capable of some of lightning, if we can get a storm become strong enough to. Once we get back into Friday, the environment should be drained of most energy, so it will go back to just scattered rain showers.

Saturday into Sunday will be another very active time for the rain. Thunder could also be possible on Saturday, as the energy will be built back a little bit that could support some more thunder and lightning. Rain could become more widespread overnight Saturday into Sunday morning.

Monday should be fairly clear of precipitation, but some lingering showers will remain possible early. Wednesday will be a more likely time for rain coming into our region as we watch for another system. Temperatures though, going to be well above average, topping out in the mid to even upper 70’s for some Saturday!
