Warm Temperatures and Active Weather Continue

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Patchy fog will develop early this morning, dissipating after the morning commute. After it dissipates, scattered showers and storms will be in and out of the region this afternoon, but will not be as frequent as the last couple of days. The stationary front has inched its way north, which leads to less rain chances at the end of the week. With that being said, scattered showers will be possible today and through Friday morning before we finally get a brief break from the rainy conditions. While that is happening, the next front will start developing in the southern plains. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

After Saturday morning, the next front will be upon us. This cold front will drag widespread showers and thunderstorms into the region. The showers and storms will last through the rest of Saturday and into Sunday morning before moving away later in the day. Previously, this front will have produced severe weather in the central plains, and these conditions may persist into our region. Damaging winds, heavy rain, and hail are possible, and we can’t rule out an isolated spin-up either. After the storms come and go, a slight decrease in temperatures will follow. However, we will get back into the 70s next week.

Next week will be similar to this week. Temperatures remain warm and weather remains active. Monday will be a slower start with only a few isolated showers expected, but the next front starts to develop, bringing some showers ahead of it on Tuesday. Widespread storms come through once again on Wednesday. These may also bring stronger storms, though that is less certain that this coming weekend. Be prepared for wet and warm weather over the next week or so. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
