Another Winter system looks to take aim at our area Monday night into Tuesday morning. This one looks again to bring a Wintry Mix to our area, with accumulating snow likely north of us. Ice accumulations look likely across our area Tuesday morning, which could lead to some travel issues (mainly in the Greenbrier Valley).
This is the European model ice accumulation forecast. I do believe it’s overdoing the totals ever so slightly, but I will not rule out some areas near the Virginia border picking up a quarter of an inch of freezing rain/ice through Tuesday morning. All models however, are highlighting the Virginia border area receiving the most. Although freezing rain accumulation is still possible elsewhere.
After the system coming through Monday night and Tuesday, we will start to dry up Wednesday and Thursday, although clouds will still be lingering in our area Thursday. Another storm system looks to take aim at our area Friday, bringing what looks like another Wintry Mix into our region. Although details are not precise this far out!
