WV Little League state tournament continues in Lewisburg

LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – The 2020 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania was canceled amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but the opportunity remains for West Virginia teams to be crowned state champions.

The state tournament is in progress in Lewisburg, with three teams still in the double-elimination tournament. Sophia and Ceredo-Kenova will play Tuesday in the winner’s bracket final, with Mineral County also still playing after two wins on Monday.

Mineral County will play the loser of Ceredo-Kenova/Sophia Tuesday evening, and then the winner of that game would need to beat the Ceredo-Kenova/Sophia winner twice on Wednesday to win twice to claim the state championship; the Ceredo-Kenova/Sophia winner would need to win one game.
