WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Temperatures start off chilly, but will become much better this afternoon. Some areas will break the 60-degree mark before the day is done. However, increasing cloud cover will make things a bit more gloomy than most would hope in nice temperatures like these. The active weather will start on Wednesday as showers move into the region from a low-pressure system in the Great Lakes. However, this is just the start of the active weather this week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
The first low-pressure moving through on Wednesday will bring lighter and more scattered rain, but Thursday will up the ante. Rain becomes widespread, and thunderstorms are possible within the cluster of showers moving through the region. Severe weather likely stays to our west in Ohio, Kentucky, and other bordering states, but gusty winds and thunder can’t be ruled out. These storms continue through the day and even into Friday, ending out work week on a gloomy and damp note. With consistent rainfall, we could see minor flooding issues stemming from streams and creeks. Ponding on roads and ice jams are also possible, furthering potential for minor impacts in the region.

As the weekend comes, showers become more scattered once again. However, temperatures will also drop back to more winter-like values, bringing in potential for a wintry mix by Sunday morning. If you put away the cold gear, it may be a good idea to have it ready sooner rather than later. There is a growing signal for a coastal storm this weekend, but things are still uncertain. As of now, it is possible but not a certainty. If it does come to fruition, precipitation in the region could be impacted. We are keeping an eye on the situation Sunday into Monday as more information comes in. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
