Winter Weather Continues through the Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): While we did not get as much snow last night as previous storms, roads across the region are still slushy and icy as the morning commute continues. Snow will linger across the region this morning and dissipate in the afternoon, giving us a brief break from the weather. Accumulation will be little to none from these lingering snow showers, though it won’t be the last round of snow we see either.

Another round of wintery weather will start overnight tonight and last through Friday as the next clipper system moves through the region. This system will once again cause disruptions across the region top end the work week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:

Total snowfall for the next clipper system will be generally between one and three inches with a little less expected in the Greenbrier Valley. Locally higher totals are possible at higher elevations, but the majority of the region will stick in that range. Snowfall will continue through the day, slowly dissipating in the evening and finally drying up overnight. This leads us to a better day on Saturday with mostly cloudy skies and no precipitation. However, once again, a clipper system will move through the region early Sunday morning. This system will be the quickest hitting of the three, leaving by the afternoon, but will cause more disruptions across southern West Virginia.

The start of next week will be drier but colder thanks to both the clippers from previous days and colder air dropping in from the north. Monday morning will likely start in the single digits for a majority of the region before reaching into the 20s later in the day. Skies will stay mostly sunny not just for Monday but for Tuesday as well, bringing us the best streak of weather in a bit. All things end, however, as a slight rain chance does sneak back into the forecast Wednesday night. Here’s your 7-Day Forecast:
